Young Scholars Program

Program Information

YSP 2016 applications open October 15, 2015 and close January 31, 2016. Please see the YSP Brochure for eligibility and application information. Accepted students will be notified by April 1, 2016.

Housing is optional. Please see the 2015 YSP Housing Information for fees and availability. Housing costs are not covered with acceptance to the program.

2015 Young Scholars

Class of 2015 Young Scholars

The 2015 Young Scholars Internship Program concluded July 10, 2015. The cohort consisted of 32 young scholars conducting research on the Athens campus, 29 on the Griffin campus, and 22 on the Tifton Campus totaling 83 in the 2015 UGA Young Scholars class. From the three campuses, 26 participants will attend the University of Georgia in fall 2015, with 14 pursuing majors in the College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences.


Young Scholars Pre-collegiate Research Conference 2016

The Young Scholars Pre-collegiate Research Conference will be held on the Athens campus July 6-8, 2016 - during the final three days of the Young Scholars program. The conference aims to highlight research conducted by the 2016 class of Young Scholars from the Athens, Griffin and Tifton campuses. Through oral and poster presentations, students are able to demonstrate their research in agriculture related STEM sciences.
